For advanced treatment Nur leaves for Singapore

News Desk: Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur left Dhaka on Monday morning for advanced medical treatment in Singapore.

He departed for Singapore on a flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:25 am, accompanied by his personal physician, Dr. Sazzad Hossain Russel, Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopedic and Spine Surgery at Bangladesh Medical University. Nur will undergo treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

“After receiving treatment for a long time at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and other medical facilities, Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur left for Singapore this morning on the advice of his doctors for advanced treatment, including nasal surgery,” read a post on Nur’s Facebook page.

Earlier, on the night of 29 August, a clash broke out in the capital’s Kakrail area between activists of Nur’s party and the Jatiyo Party. As the situation escalated, police and army personnel charged batons to bring the situation under control. Nur was seriously injured during the law enforcers’ action.
